In 1996, the USCA Alumni Association established the USCA Endowment Fund which awards scholarships and grants to co-op members. Several other scholarships and awards are available to USCA members from funds which generous USCA alumni have established over the years. Scholarships help students who might not otherwise be able to afford a university education.

The USCA Endowed Scholarship Fund awards multiple scholarships each semester. Each award equals one co-op installment payment. These scholarships are awarded on the basis of need and involvement in the co-op. The Ted Johnston Scholarship Fund (part of the Endowed Scholarship Fund) was created in 2005, and the first award in memory of Ted Johnston will be granted in Fall 2006.

The Brooke-Harrington Memorial Scholarships are awarded based upon involvement in the co-ops. The number and amount of awards vary.

The Belva Brink Memorial Scholarship of $400 is awarded in the Spring to a co-oper who has an outstanding record of service to the USCA and demonstrates substantial financial need.

Bogie Bogart Bear Bucks-In-Aid (each equal to one co-op installment payment) are awarded in Spring and Fall semesters to Juniors and Seniors on the basis of need.

The Harper Puziss Scholarship is awarded each semester and is based upon co-op involvement, academic achievement and financial need.

The June Walton Tichinin Memorial Grant (equal to one installment payment) created in Fall 2006, is awarded each semester to a woman with financial need who exhibits potential for leadership.

The Brunetta Reid Wolfman Scholarship (equal to one installment payment) is awarded to a woman of color living in Sherman or Hoyt.

The Judy Gilmore Scholarship (equal to one installment payment) was established this year and is awarded to a woman residing in Hoyt or Sherman with financial need and academic excellence.

The Pioneer Award of $1,000 was established in 2002 in honor of our pioneers and to benefit current co-op pioneers. Any co-op member is eligible to be nominated for the award based upon an innovative idea or project which has benefited the co-ops.

*The USCA Scholarship Committee (made up of students and alumni) reserves the right to change the amounts awarded as they deem necessary during the awards process*

Thanks to our generous alumni and friends, USCA scholarships continue to grow.  Consider helping a co-oper make ends meet! You may donate online using your Visa or MasterCard. You may also make checks out to the USCA, indicating your preferred scholarship fund in the memo field. Send checks to:
