  African American Theme House Resident Information

The residents of the African American Theme House are devoted to serving the local African American community. The following is based on the Constitution of the African American Theme House.

All Members of Afro House are expected to:

  1. Attend events hosted by the African American student groups at UCB*
  2. Understand that the African American Theme House fosters a supportive community for African American students at UCB.
  3. Acknowledge that black organizations are welcome to hold their meetings, events, and social gatherings at the African American Theme House, with the approval of the house council.
  4. Encourage a sense of unity and dignity in the African American Theme House that supports all members as well as the entire black community at UCB
  5. Complete hours of involvement in the African American Community at Cal (the number of hours may vary on a semester basis, usually 3 hours per semester)*
  6. Put in effort in the various AATH events (including the Black History Month program, evening study hour, Kwanzaa celebrations, movie and discussion nights, and many others constantly being held throughout the year) hosted by the African American Theme House.
  7. Promote multi-racial unity and equality and encourage anti-racist beliefs and practices

*We offer students attending other local colleges fulfilling the USCA student status requirement a welcome invitation to these pursuits.
