Note that Cloyne will be closed during Spring 2009 for retrofit. Fall 2008 residents will be guarateed Spring 2009 housing in another co-op.

Cloyne Court is the largest co-op house in the USCA. With 149 people living under one roof during the academic year, there is always something going on, always someone to hang out with even at 4:00 in the morning....and since only UC Berkeley students can live in Cloyne during the Academic Year, you will find many housemates in your classes!

The beautiful building has a history dating back to 1904 and is listed as a Berkeley Landmark.  See the Berkeley Architectural Heritage Association website for some wonderful photos and history of Cloyne.  

We offer the largest hot tub in the USCA, a brand new sauna, a TV room (with DVD player and surround sound), a pool table, and foosball.

Our residents can be found reading and hanging out on comfy couches in the sunny family room, chatting and eating at the picnic table in the back courtyard, hitting the books in the quiet and

private study room downstairs, tinkling the ivories in the piano room, using the darkroom,

shooting hoops on our full length basketball court, playing for our always victorious intramural soccer, basketball, and softball teams, or fixin' chick patties at 3am in our well-stocked kitchen. Being so large, Cloyne will never get the award for the cleanest or quietest co-op, but one thing is for sure: no matter what you are into, with 148 residents, there will always be those who share your hobbies and interests.
