We need your submissions for the next OM!
Next year’s BSC Owner’s Manual & Calendar is currently being finished up, and most houses have submitted no pictures or revisions to their current house descriptions! :(   Please, please, please, wee member, take it upon yourself to help by sending to me a couple pictures of your house and/or the people in it being co-oppy. If in addition you’d like to make a revision to the house descriptions (visible on the web and in last year’s manual), send it on over! To me! At mrsasst@usca.org. Cheers.

Get HiCom Trained, Make Some Bucks
The BSC depends on members like you for its hiring process. HiCom trained members are notified of upcoming hirings and given the option to participate. Hiring sessions are usually 2-3 hours, and participants get paid $12.20 per hour. It’s a convenient way to make some bucks, learn a bit about hiring processes in general, and help keep the wheels of your organization turning. To participate, email mguerrero@usca.org.

Get involved with ITCom
ITCom (Information Technology Committee) is a new, central-level committee! If you are interested in making decisions regarding IT in the co-ops (such as what server we use and programming for our web interface), please email Andrew at vpsm@usca.coop. You can get paid for making decisions about your co-op!

Contribute to Zine on Sexual Violence
My name is Daria Garina. I am an undergrad student of Public Health, a co-opper, and a health worker. This summer I am compiling a zine with information about campus and community resources for survivors of sexual violence. If you have been affected by sexual violence and want to share your words, stories, support, poetry, or art, I would love to publish your submission! Or if you would like to get involved with writing, research, or editing, I’d love your help. Contact me via email, or join our emailing list for project updates, work parties, etc.

Summer Maintenance Jobs
Since there isn’t enough full time work to have a summer crew, Central maintenance (CM) is accepting applications for “on-call” maintenance workers. When we need people to help, we will contact “on-call” workers a day or two ahead of time to see if they are interested in working with us on a project. Applications are available at CO. There is no deadline for submitting applications – they can even be turned in during the summer.

Is your student status in question for the Fall?
Keep in mind when signing your Fall contracts that the BSC has student status requirements for membership eligibility. If you have concerns about grace semesters and preparatory grace semesters you should discuss them at Central Office before the beginning of the semester, and you can also contact the Member Advocate at 510.418.1494 or member.advocate@usca.org. It is always better to make sure you’re solid eligibility footing sooner than later.
