 Assistant Waste Reduction (aka Re-Use) Coordinator

Job Description
The Assistant Waste Reduction Coordinator (AWRC) assists in the USCA recycling effort by collecting reusable goods and uncommon recycling materials and distributing or selling them to reuse and recycling organizations of the flea market.  This will include collecting unwanted furniture and reusable packing materials.  The specific duties will include setting up reuse/specialized recycling areas at the houses, monitoring these areas and redistributing the goods on a monthly basis.  You will also be responsible for keeping the reuse areas organized.  Other duties may be assigned by the Waste Reduction Coordinator, as necessary.  In addition, s/he must attend Waste Reduction Managers’ meetings during the semester. 

Requirements
You have to be willing and able to drive a truck (automatic), have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.   You have to be willing and able to lift 50 lbs. and occasionally more than that.  You have to be good at dealing with people, communicating, educating, etc.  You need to be well-organized, reliable, responsible, show good judgment and able to work independently. You must have knowledge of recycling & re-use programs. 

Hours/Pay
This job averages 8-hours/week, fulfilling your workshift obligation at the house, and providing a rent credit stipend of $627/semester.  If you live in the apartments, you will receive an additional stipend (at $12.20/hour) for the workshift hours (it doesn’t replace your workshift obligation at the apartments).  The job begins immediately and lasts indefinitely, although you would not work during the summer (as CK operates only during Fall & Spring Semesters). If, for whatever reason, the job begins mid-semester the compensation will be prorated. This job is eligible for work-study compensation.  You cannot hold a Central Level job & be on the Board of Directors.
