Job Description
We are looking for a person to fulfill the full-time, live-in position of Apartment Manager at Rochdale & Fenwick Villages. This person is responsible for the successful and efficient day-to-day operations and financial record-keeping of two adjacent apartment complexes housing 354 residents in 133 units. Duties include, but are not limited to, checking residents in & out of the complex; responding to residents’ requests and complaints; maintaining financial records; ensuring that maintenance & habitability standards are maintained; enforcing contract provisions; working with the house councils at Rochdale and at Fenwick, and also working closely with the USCA Central Level administration to ensure compliance with USCA policies. The Apartment Manager supervises two part-time assistant managers and part-time maintenance crew staff. The Apartment Manager carries a pager and must be on-call for emergencies.
Requirements
You must have excellent organizational skills, and the ability to interact with a diverse group of people. Good interpersonal skills and the desire to work with college students are necessary for this job. Some previous management experience in a residential setting is required, as well as previous supervisory experience. Familiarity and/or knowledge of cooperatives, the cooperative movement and/or the USCA are preferred.
Wages & Hours
This is a full-time job that requires you to live on-site. Compensation is a studio apartment, free off-street parking, benefits, and a salary of $37,357/year. Benefits include paid vacation and sick leave, paid holidays, & fully paid medical and dental insurance. The job begins immediately, and the position lasts indefinitely. A two-year commitment is preferred.
