About the Summer 2008 assignment process

This page contains information about the assignment process to help you make your best decision about housing.  If you have questions, please call our office at (510) 848-1936.  The Office is open weekdays 10:00-5:00.  We are happy to communicate by email, but it is far easier to give better answers by phone or in person.

What you may want to know about the process:

1.  As of May 26, the waiting list for people wanting immediate housing is really small.  We also have many immediately available summer openings.

2. We are currently making Summer contract offers by email (or phone if requested).  We normally contact people in the afternoon and give them a deadline of NOON, the following business day to respond to an offer before losing the space.  The short response time is to speed up the assignment process.  If you will be out of email contact for a night, let us know ahead of time so that you don't miss an offer.

3.  The most likely places to have openings for new members is Hoyt Hall, Rochdale, Fenwick and Cloyne Court.  Note that Cloyne Court is only available to people who attend UC Berkeley during the academic year.

4. You may also view information about the mid-summer waiting list.

5.  You may stay on the Summer 2008 waiting list as long as you like.  We will make Summer 2008 contract offers into the semester until July 16.
