About the 2008 Mid-Summer assignment process
This page contains information about the assignment process to help you make your best decision about housing. If you have questions, please call our office at (510) 848-1936. The Office is open weekdays 10:00-5:00. We are happy to communicate by email, but it is far easier to give better answers by phone or in person.. What you may want to know about the process: 1. IF YOU NEED HOUSING IN THE NEXT TWO WEEKS, you should know that the waiting list remains uncommonly long and we anticipate that we will not be able to accomodate many people who are currently waiting. You can view the current mid-summer waiting list and the key to the mid-summer waiting list. 2. People living in the co-ops from the beginning of summer must give us 2 weeks notice to move out mid-summer. Some people give us more notice (and some less). When we offer out spaces, we will offer people spaces near their preferred start date. Thus, the more flexible you are on your start date and housing preferences, the more likely we will be able to offer you mid-summer housing. 4. The most likely places to have openings for new members is Hoyt Hall, Rochdale, Fenwick and Cloyne Court. Note that Cloyne Court has an immediate opening, but is only available to people who attend UC Berkeley during the academic year and are taking 6 units in the summer. |
